Alan “Buddy” Simmons

Mr. Simmons is a founding shareholder and director of Gold Coast Bank. He is a New York City licensed Master Rigger, a founding member and Managing Director of the New York City Master Riggers Association, and President of Budco Enterprises, Inc. He is also an appointed volunteer to aid in establishing rigging qualifications and responsibilities in the construction industry for the American National Standards Institute and the NYC Department of Cranes and Derricks Rigging Task Force & Advisory Council. Beginning as a union Ironworker, he taught welding at night school and supervised 80 Ironworker’s daily activities and rigging as the Superintendent at the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station before establishing Budco Enterprises in 1985. Budco Enterprises specializes in derrick work, high rise & heavy rigging, structural steel engineering & fabrication, and art sculpture installations. Over the years, he has completed a multitude of derrick jobs with the numerous derricks he owns at high rise buildings to install equipment with necessary structural steel and alterations. He has completed 90 ton rotor replacements for generators with his 400 ton jacking gantry system and, in 2001, he installed over 2 million pounds of steel in record time to have the 1/9 subway line open for the one year anniversary of the World Trade Center Collapse. As recognition for this achievement, he received a Top Project Plaque of Honor. Mr. Simmons was also called in by the NYC Office of Emergency Management in 2008 to rig down the collapsed tower crane on 52nd Street. He has won numerous Safety Awards for his company’s impeccable record. A longtime Little League volunteer and sponsor, Mr. Simmons is actively involved in numerous 9/11 memorials, the Allied Build Metal Industries, the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association, the Ironworkers IMPACT program, the Build Trades Employers’ Association, the US Chamber of Commerce, and the Hauppauge Industrial Association. Mr. Simmons resides in Setauket with his wife and has two adult children.
