Museum Honors John C. Tsunis, Esq. at Annual Golf Tournament
Stony Brook, NY … May 15, 2014 … The Long Island Museum announces that in celebration of its 75th anniversary, long time museum supporter John C. Tsunis, Esq., Managing Partner of Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook and Tsunis Gasparis Lustig Ring & Kenney LLP, and Chairman of the Board of Gold Coast Bank, will be honored at its annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 2 at St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Setauket.
“I’m honored to be a part of the museum’s 75th anniversary celebration and excited to see what lies ahead for this important institution,” said Tsunis upon accepting this distinction.
Tsunis opened his law practice in 1977, specializing in real estate, zoning, commercial transactions and banking law, and is active in real estate development transactions, and hotel management and development. He is the current Chairman of the Board of Gold Coast Bank in Islandia, New York, and serves as a member of its executive and loan committees. He is the former Vice Chairman and General Counsel for Long Island Commercial Bank (Islandia, NY) and member of its board of directors, executive committee, and loan committees. He is the owner of Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook, Chairman/CEO of Long Island Hotels LLC, a Member of the Board of Governors of Touro Law School, Chairman of the New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association, President of Tsunis Family Foundation Inc., past Chairman of the Board of the Long Island Museum, past Chair of the Stony Brook University Medical Center Children’s Hospital Task Force, past President of the Three Village Chamber of Commerce and active in many other philanthropic endeavors. He was recently honored by the Village Times Herald as Man of the Year and resides in Poquott, New York with his wife Laura and son Charlie.
